Devops Engineer

Reference: PR/064763-1
A scaling technology company in the renewable energy sector is looking to bring on board a mid-level AWS Devops Engineer. Operating across three continents, this company uses AI to redefine how large-scale energy storage and renewable assets are managed and monetised. Through advanced modelling and real-time trading, the company maximises asset performance and commercial returns to help accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.

They are looking for a DevOp Engineer to join their close-knit team in Melbourne, working alongside 4 local developers as well as a global Devops Team. This is a hands on role where you will be digging into code to understand why things may be running slowly or getting locked up, as well as working on large IAC migration work with the global Devops Team.

What you will be doing:
  • Helping evolve and scale a modern cloud environment, including a hands-on move from container services into Kubernetes
  • Building and managing infrastructure using Terraform across multiple regions
  • Setting up and maintaining secure networking, including VPN connections to external/remote systems
  • Improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) to streamline how teams build and release software
  • Working very closely with the Development Team to help identify inefficiencies in Code
  • Supporting platform security and contributing to best practices across the environment
  • Identifying bottlenecks, suggesting improvements, and continuously looking for ways to do things better

What you need to succeed:
  • Proven experience working in an AWS Environment ( EC2, RDS, S3 )
  • Experience with IaC - Terraform or similar
  • Experience working with Kubernetes or EKS is a bonus
  • Experience with hands on Development is highly regarded - ideally Python
  • Good understanding of Network fundamentals - VPNs, IPsec
  • An inquisitive mindset - always wanting to find out the 'why'
  • Problem solving ability to suggest improvements rather than fixes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
