Senior Devops Engineer

Opus has partnered with a leading, ASX-listed, retailer who are going through exciting transformation and are looking to bring on an Azure-focused Senior Devops Engineer to the team. 

The Senior Devops Engineer will be working within an enterprise-scale environment that spans across the ANZ region. You'll work on complex, high-impact initiatives alongside experienced professionals in an environment that combines the scale and stability of an established enterprise with the pace and innovation of a modern digital business.

What you will be doing:
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to architect, build, and deliver scalable cloud and infrastructure solutions predominantly across Azure ( and some GCP ) 
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise critical infrastructure and platform services, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Design and implement infrastructure, platform, and tooling capabilities aligned with business and technology objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, performance, security, and scalability.
  • Champion DevOps principles, encouraging collaboration, automation, and best-practice engineering across technology teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineers, promoting best practices and supporting capability development.

What you will need to succeed:
  • Extensive experience in DevOps Engineering with demonstrated ability as a 'Senior'
  • Must have excellent experience with Azure DevOps - non-negotiable
  • Hands on experience with GCP and / or AWS would be a bonus
  • Proven hands-on deep technical ability with Terraform IaC
  • Experience designing & building CICD pipelines with GitHub
  • Strong fundamentals of Azure Networking - VNet, NSG, Firewalls, Loadbalancers
  • The ability to take a holistic view rather than task-based
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
