Job Title: Senior / Lead Platform Engineer

My client is revamping the e-sports and betting industry with their industry leading platform. They are on a journey to become a major player both in Australia and globally in the e-sports space and they are looking for someone with expertise in Platform Engineering to take ownership of their infrastructure.

With recent growth, they are seeking someone with robust hands-on experience in developing cloud infrastructure and craft cloud products for internal stakeholders. This position will play a vital role in enhancing the developer experience and spearhead the process of automating their cloud ecosystem management.

About you:

• Self-starter / decision maker who can spearhead the automation journey
• Hands on expertise in Infrastructure as code
• Experience with containerized application ecosystems / continuous delivery
• Experience in implementing monitoring solutions
• Leadership experience / capability – this role is guaranteed to grow
• Team player with high ownership

Day to day:

• Decide on appropriate IAC
• Transition AWS and Firebase infrastructure to IAC control
• Automate the creation and destruction of test environments
• Implement observability, monitoring and logging practices
• Migration of all databases to IAM authentication
• Write and manage code – Ideally Java
• Work with IAC tools
• Performance optimisation

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Kube / Containers
• Development background – Java / Python
• Experience with automated security scanning, alerting and remediation
