Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior UX / Interaction Designer to join a major digital transformation programme. You will play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital services, working within a multidisciplinary Agile team to deliver high-quality user experiences from discovery through to delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who is passionate about solving complex user problems, influencing product direction, and championing best-practice UX design.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design of end-to-end user experiences across digital products and services.Create user journeys, process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs.Conduct and support usability testing, translating insights into actionable improvements.Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, User Researchers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders.Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gather requirements and validate solutions.Ensure all designs meet accessibility and inclusive design standards.Contribute to and maintain design systems and UX best practices.Communicate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Support and mentor other designers where required.ExperienceProven experience as a Senior UX Designer, Interaction Designer, or Product Designer.Strong track record designing complex digital services and user experiences.Experience working within Agile delivery teams.Demonstrable experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Experience conducting or working alongside user research and usability testing activities.Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.Key SkillsUser-Centred Design (UCD)UX DesignInteraction DesignFigmaWireframing & PrototypingUser Journey MappingUsability TestingAccessibility (WCAG)Design SystemsAgile DeliveryStakeholder EngagementWorkshop FacilitationDesirableExperience working within Central Government, Public Sector, or highly regulated environments.Knowledge of the GOV.UK Design System and GDS standards.Experience contributing to enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes.Familiarity with Service Design principles.Previous experience mentoring or coaching designers.Apply Now
